    There's a lot to celebrate during Easter celebrations, including our famous "Lamala", which is one of our region's traditional cakes, shaped like an Easter lamb…

    Known as the "Lamala" in the Haut-Rhin region and as "Lammele" in the Bas-Rhin region, this traditional Alsace pâtisserie delicacy is made up of a wondrously soft Genoise sponge with a light lemon flavour, adding an exquisite element to Easter Sunday breakfasts.

    Our Maison bakes this delicious speciality in a traditional terracotta mould made in Soufflenheim, a historical hub of pottery in Alsace. Through this meticulous process, you'll admire the stunning colour and unique taste of this pâtisserie. The very first bite reveals the delicate flavour of the lemon peel, but what's most likely to surprise you is its incredibly soft texture, which is the result of generous amounts of ultra-fresh, Alsace eggs beaten to perfection for as long as it takes, creating a uniquely light, cloud-like aspect for these sweet delights…

    Our serving tips

    To be shared during brunch or a family catch-up, our Lamala gathers everyone around the table on Easter Sunday. Enjoy it alongside a hot drink - a hot chocolate, coffee or even a black tea. For a moment of even deeper bliss, combine our Genoise sponge with a strawberry or rhubarb -preserve…

    To make sure you experience the best flavours and textures our Lamala has to offer, we recommend enjoying it within 8 days of its shipment from our Atelier. It'll come with a little packet of icing sugar to dress it in its "Easter best"…

    EGGS, sugar, wheat flour (GLUTEN), butter (MILK), ALMOND paste (sugar, ALMONDS (32%), inverted sugar syrup, glucose syrup), cornstarch, candied lemon peel paste (lemon peel 51%, glucose syrup), candied orange peel (fruit 52% (clémentine 60%, orange 40%), glucose syrup, sugar).

    All our products are made in a bakery which uses wheat flour (gluten), milk (lactose), eggs, nuts (almond, hazelnut, pistachio, walnut), sesame, soya derivative, peanuts and ingredients which may contain traces of sulphites.

    In order to ensure that our Lamala retains its flavours and texture, it's been frozen (cooled to core, immediately after production), using the appropriate techniques. Given this, we ask that you do NOT refreeze this product.
