The smoothie: a drink that first emerged over in the 1920s in the United States, in California, and which is now a fan favourite around the world. What makes it different from the milkshake is that it is made up mostly of fruits or vegetables, instead of dairy products.
In addition to its smooth texture, this popular drink combines fruit purées, juices and pieces and delivers a bright, colourful drink with energising and nourishing benefits.
To fully embrace the hot summer days, why not try out a recipe that combines sweet indulgence with seasonal fruit, full of vitamins? Whether it's for breakfast, an afternoon snack break or just cooling down on the terrace or in the garden, this drink is ultra-easy to whip up and is sure to become your new go-to…
Easy
10 minutes
2 serving
Add the raspberries (set a few aside for a garnish), the half banana, 2 mint leaves and the lemon juice into your blender.
You can use seasonal fresh raspberries and make the most of all their vitamins, but if you want to keep making this delicious drink over the rest of the year, frozen raspberries will also do a great job and will create an even smoother texture!
Blend for approx. 1 minute, until you get a smooth mixture.
Strain out the seeds, if needed.
Add the yoghurt and honey into the mixture. For a luxurious, high-quality smoothie experience, use an artisan honey!
For this recipe, we find that a sweet honey works best, enriching the drink without overpowering it (like acacia honey) or, for a bolder flavour combination, try a orange blossom or lemon blossom honey, which pairs wonderfully with a fruity smoothie. If you want to really commit to the theme of this smoothie, try a raspberry honey!
Blend again.
Add in the milk to give your mixture a more fluid consistency, dosing it to taste, and quickly mix in the blender or using a spoon.
Pour your gorgeous smoothie into tall, transparent glasses for a treat that's as easy on the eyes as it is on the tastebuds!
Mix in the crushed ice.
Garnish with a few whole raspberries, lime zest and the rest of mint leaves.
Voilà, it's ready to enjoy! Best enjoyed straight away or kept in the fridge ready for later!
You can replace the yoghurt with another creamy ingredient, such as cream, ice cream or even avocado!
Whilst quenching your thirst in delicious style with this smoothie, we recommend pairing it with a sweet treat! Our Maison recommends enjoying one of our delicious Tartelettes alongside this indulgent smoothie. Whether you opt for traditional Linzer, raspberry to keep up the slightly acid sweetness, or Vosges wild blueberry, the bold, fruity flavours of our tartelettes harmonise beautifully with the red fruit notes of the smoothie to take you on a wonderful tasting experience…
